This poem is a witty, affectionate verse about fathers and all they do for us.
Our funny and heartfelt A4 poem print makes the perfect gift for fathers - whether it's for a birthday, christmas, father's day or even a new parent.
Whether he's a stubbly snorer, a spider remover or a terrible teaser, everyone will recognise the hero described in 'What is a Dad?'
The poem is printed on the highest quality card which measures H30 x W21cm (A4). It is unframed and presented smartly in cellophane with backing board behind. The poem text/font colour is taupe but it is also available in blue.
The text reads:
What is a Dad?
A feeder, a changer, a safeguard from danger
A stubbly snorer, an offspring adorer
A tent rigger & sandcastle digger
A storybook reader, a motorway speeder
A bonfire lighter & ‘dad joke’ reciter
A cuddly tickler, rarely a stickler
A room decorator, a shopping trip hater
A spider remover, allergic to hoover
A carer, a sharer & rarely a glarer
A butler & porter, a coach & supporter
A gadget admirer, a BBQ firer
A lender, a mender, a knightly defender
A grower, a mower, an everything knower
A bottle uncorker, a supper-time talker
A game inventor, role model & mentor
A bin putter-outer & sometimes a shouter
A free taxi driver, a slipper of fiver
A party enhancer, embarrassing dancer
A contest decider, a lecture provider
A terrible teaser & all round good geezer
That’s what makes a Dad!

A Letter to Mum
To my wonderful Mum
I have to say sorry
For the teenage tantrums
And all of the worry
For all the times
I answered you back
Sulked and protested
And veered off the track.
Thanks for forgiving,
(Just one of your gifts)
For the listening ear
The advice and the lifts
Your unquestioning love
Your caring devotion
The hugs and support
At times of commotion.
You told me the truth
Yet let me be me
And helped me to find
Who I wanted to be.
You shaped me and gave me
All that you had
Stayed by my side
In good times and bad.
So thank you for showing
What parents should be
With all of my love Mum
Forever - from me.

A Letter to Mummy
To my wonderful Mummy
I just have to say,
I think you are perfect
In every way.
You work so hard
To give me the best
With you on my side
I feel truly blessed.
Thanks for the kisses,
The stories, the fun
For keeping me safe
And being my mum.
I want to say sorry
For the mess that I make
For the noise and the tantrums,
The things that I break.
For all of the times
I wake you at night,
For when I am ill
And it gives you a fright!
But I need you and love you
And if there’s a muddle
I know you are there
With your voice and your cuddle.
So thank you for showing
What mothers should be
With love dearest Mummy
Forever… From me.
